Preventative Care
Your Trusted Preventative Care Clinic, Holiday FL
At Florida Primary Care in Holiday, we provide preventative care services that help patients stay healthy, avoid complications, and maintain long-term well-being.
What preventative Care Does and Why It Matters
Preventative care is designed to protect your health by detecting potential problems early, when they are easier to manage or treat. It includes regular health evaluations, screenings, and guidance based on your age, medical history, and risk factors.
At Florida Primary Care, preventative care services include annual wellness exams, physicals, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring, diabetes screening, cancer screenings, immunizations, and routine lab testing. These services allow us to track changes in your health over time and identify warning signs before they lead to serious conditions.
Preventative care also involves discussions about lifestyle factors such as diet, physical activity, stress, sleep, and tobacco use. By addressing these areas early, we help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Personalized Prevention, Not One-Size-Fits-All Care
At Florida Primary Care, preventative care is tailored to each patient. We take into account your family history, existing conditions, and personal health goals to create a prevention plan that makes sense for you.
Our providers explain test results, outline recommended screenings, and help you understand what steps to take next. If a potential concern is identified, we act early — whether that means closer monitoring, lifestyle adjustments, or further evaluation.
By offering consistent preventative care, we help patients in Holiday stay informed about their health, reduce long-term risks, and take an active role in preventing illness rather than reacting to it.

What is the "Welcome to Medicare" visit?
If you are new to Medicare, this one-time introductory visit focuses on health promotion and disease detection to get you started on the right track. You can find more details on the Official Medicare Website.
Why are shingles and pneumonia vaccines so important for seniors?
As we age, our immune systems weaken. These vaccines significantly reduce the risk of severe complications and hospitalizations associated with these illnesses.
Which vaccines do I need as I age?
Your immune system changes over time. We recommend staying current with the CDC-recommended vaccines for adults 65+, including the high-dose Flu shot, Pneumococcal (Pneumonia) vaccines, Shingles (Shingrix), and the RSV vaccine.
Can you help with "polypharmacy" (taking multiple medications)?
Absolutely. A key part of preventative care for seniors is a medication review. We analyze your prescriptions and supplements to reduce the risk of harmful drug interactions and side effects like dizziness.
What is a "Falls Risk Assessment" and why do I need one?
A falls risk assessment is a proactive evaluation to help you stay steady on your feet and maintain your independence. Rather than waiting for a fall to happen, we look for “hidden” risks such as:
Medication Side Effects: Reviewing if any of your prescriptions cause dizziness or drowsiness.
Vision & Balance: Checking if a change in your eyesight or inner-ear health is affecting your stability.
Physical Strength: Testing your leg strength and gait through simple movements like standing up from a chair.
Home Safety: Discussing potential hazards in your living space, such as loose rugs or poor lighting.
